Ano ang nangyari sa Cavite Mutiny?

     Ang Cavite ay pinangyarihan ng pag-aalsa ng hukbong Pilipino noong 1872. Si Sarhento Fernando La Madrid ang namamahala sa operasyon. Nang ang ilan sa kanilang mga karapatan, tulad ng hindi pagbabayad ng buwis at hindi paglahok sa paggawa, ay inalis, nagwelga ang mga tropa.

Mabilis na pinawi ng mga Kastila ang rebelyon at sinakop ang GomBurZa.

     Nang akusahan si GomBurZa na nag-uudyok sa mga tao na mag-alsa noong Cavite Mutiny, sila ay binitay.

     Ang pag-aresto kay GomBurZa, na kilala rin bilang ang tatlong pari na martir, ay nakikita bilang isang pagkakataon para sa konserbatibong administrasyon ng Espanya na ipakita ang lakas nito at itigil ang debate sa sekularisasyon.

     Nilitis ang mga pari gamit ang mga saksi gaya ng sundalong si Francisco Zaldua, at hinatulan sila ng kamatayan sa pamamagitan ng clubbing noong Pebrero 17, 1872, sa Bagumbayan. Ngunit sa halip na matakot sa gobyerno, ang pangyayaring ito ay nagpatindi ng damdaming makabansa ng mga Pilipino laban sa mananakop.
