Ano ang Teritoryo ng Pilipinas ayon sa mga Saligang Batas?

May tatlong Konstitusyon ng Pilipinas na tumutukoy sa mga limitasyon ng teritoryo ng Pilipinas mula 1935 hanggang 1987 ito ang mga sumusunod:

      Saligang Batas ng 1935. Ang Philippine Treaty Limits ay ang pangunahing pinagmulan ng pagtukoy sa pambansang teritoryo at mga hangganan ng Pilipinas sa 1935 Constitution. Ang Pilipinas, ayon sa Artikulo I ng nakasaad na Konstitusyon, ay binubuo ng lugar na nabuo ng Treaty of Paris, Cession Treaty of 1900 at Boundaries Treaty of 1930, gayundin ng anumang mga pagpupulong sa loob ng hurisdiksyon ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas noong panahong iyon. 
  Ang Republic Act No. 3046 na kilala rin bilang Philippine Baseline Law ay naipasa noong 1961. Binago ito noong Setyembre 18, 1968 ng R.A. 5446. Isinasaad ng batas na ito na:. 
- idineklara ng Pilipinas ang kanyang kalayaan bilang isang Archipelagic country
- ayon sa archipelagic baselines, inangkin ng Pilipinas ang tubig, at
- ipinahayag ng Pilipinas na nilayon nitong magtatag ng mga marine zone.

     Saligang Batas 1973. Ayon sa Artikulo I ng Konstitusyon ng 1973, ang teritoryo ng Pilipinas ay kinabibilangan ng lahat ng mga kapuluan nito, gayundin ang lahat ng mga isla at daluyan ng tubig sa loob nito. Idineklara din ng batas ang mga pag-aangkin ng teritoryo ng Pilipinas batay sa mga legal at makasaysayang karapatan nito. 

     Saligang Batas 1987. Ayon sa Artikulo I ng 1987, ang kabuuang teritoryo ng Pilipinas ay ang mga sumusunod:
- ang archipelagic ng Pilipinas, na kinabibilangan ng lahat ng mga isla at iba pang kalupaan;
- lahat ng teritoryo sa ilalim ng ganap na kontrol ng Pilipinas; at 
- ang mga karagatang pumapalibot, nakikialam at nag-uugnay sa mga isla ng Pilipinas, anuman ang laki o lawak nito, ay itinuturing na bahagi ng panloob na karagatan ng Pilipinas.
     Noong ika-10 ng Marso, 2009, ay binago muli ang R.A. 3046 at R.A. 5446. R.A. 9522 ay may bisa na at kilala rin bilang Philippine Archipelagic Baselines Act. Nilalayon nitong ayusin ang mga baseline at batayan sa teritoryo ng Pilipinas bilang pagsunod sa kasunduan ng UNCLOS.
