Most people think that when you’re in the USA, palagi nalang lakwatsa inaatupag mo. Paano kasi sa Facebook account, puro pictures ng magagandang lugar na pinupuntahan mo ang nakikita. They don’t know that most of the time, tayong mga Pilipino dala-dalawa yung trabaho from Monday to Saturday at sometimes less than 6 hours lang ang tulog. Siguradong pagod pagdating sa bahay. So kung may time, pasyal-pasyal din, para tanggal stress.
Last November 2012, we went to the Universal Orlando Resort in Florida to unwind. Commonly known as Universal Orlando, it is the largest theme park in Orlando and the second-largest resort in Greater Orlando after Walt Disney World. The resort boasts of a number of breathtaking rides, shows, movie sets like Harry Potter, Transformers, Jurrasic Park, etc. After months of no vacation, my husband and I finally had one. With some friends, we braved the Halloween Horror Nights of the resort.
Halloween Horror Nights is one of the largest halloween events in the US. It was so scary that most people screamed when they saw aswang (a mythical creature) higante (giant), creatures from the underworld, at iba pa. Mas na feel ko yung takot when we entered different themed attractions. Paano kasi may bigla nalang babangon sa kabaong, may lulutaw na ulo, maginaw na kamay na hahawak sa ‘yo, may hihila patungong madilim na lugar, at may music na nakakatindig balahibo pa.
The only setback we experienced at the park was the waiting time. Sa sobrang dami ng tao, it took us around 45 minutes to more than an hour of waiting makapasok lang sa isang themed attraction. Pero we realized ganyan talaga pag nasa park ka. Even at Disney World, Disney Land in Hong Kong, and the Universal Studios in Singapore, palaging mataas ang linya. Ang importante masaya kami sa nakita namin.
Though it was expensive (a ticket costs around $90 each and snacks of hotdog, chips, and drinks cost from $10-$15), we enjoyed our vacation so much.
Ikaw, when was the last time you had your vacation?
