Anu-ano at pinagkaiba ng mga Uri ng Numero? What are the different types of numbers?

Ang mga numero ang isa sa mga una nating natutunan mula pagkabata maliban sa alpabeto. Ito rin ang isa sa pinakamahalagang leggwahe ng matematika. Subalit ang mga numero lamang ba na ating natutunan sa ating pagkabata ang maituturing na numero? Posible kayang marami pang ibang klase ito?

Narito ang mga uri ng numero at mga halimbawa ng bawat isa:


1. Natural na numero (natural numbers) – ito ay ang mga numerong ginagamit sa ating araw-araw na pagbilang. Kabilang dito ang 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ... at ang mga tuldok ay nangangahulugang hindi natatapos ang pagbilang.



2. Buong numero (whole numbers) – ito ay kinabibilangan ng lahat ng mga natural na numero kasama ang sero (zero).



3. Integers – kabilang dito ang lahat ng positibo at negatibong buong numero, pati na rin ang sero (zero). Halimbawa nito ay -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, at 3.



4. Rational numbers – ang mga ito ay mga numero na integer o di kaya’y mga numero na maaaring isulat bilang panumbasan (ratio) ng dalawang integer. Ang mga rational numbers ay maaaring isulat bilang hating-bilang (fraction) o desimal (decimal). Ang mga halimbawa nito ay 1/2 = 0.5, 7/8, at 0.95.



5. Irrational numbers - Halimbawa nito ay ang , π, na katumbas ng 3.14. At e na katumbas ng 2.718

Ang mga irrational na numero ay hindi maaaring isulat bilang panumbasan o ratio ng dalawang integer.


6. Totoong numero (Real numbers) – Kabilang sa mga totoong numero o real numbers ang lahat ng rational at irrational na numero. Lahat ng mga ito ay matatagpuan sa number line.


7. Imaginary numbers at Complex numbers – ito naman ang mga numero na hindi makikita sa number line. Ang mga ito ay produkto ng pagkuha ng square root ng isang negatibong numero.
