And the message said that this is the final notice in all caps and asking to settle the acct in full amount within 24 hours. There’s also a cellphone number to call to lift the case temporarily. My dad is so stressed and he doesn’t know what to do. Do they have the right to message every one of our family members? also is fhis legit? naawa kasi ako sa papa ko problemadong problemado. And wala nmn kaming nrrcv na subpoena or any letter? My dad said he has some unsettled credit card payments ten years ago. so kahit kami naiistress. We don’t know what to do. thanks in advance sa sagot atty!

Sa palagay ko hindi naman ito estafa kasi hindi pa naman kayo nagbabayad sa kanila at hindi ninyo alam kung legitimate/fake collecting agent or law office nga kasi hindi pa ninyo na verify. Maaring scam kaya mag ingat kayo. However, pwede naman ninyong tawagan just to verify but demand letter should be done in a registered mail. So never negotiate through online messages sa kanila.
