Hello po, ask ko lang po sana kung pano makakauwi ng pilipinas ang isang ofw na hindi binigay ng employer ang mga papel lalong lalo na ang passport. Salamat po. God bless

Thanks, Mikmik. Minsan kasi, hindi makapunta sa Embassy ang OFW. Maganda ngang through the internet padaanin ang request for assistance. Yun nga lang, kung walang internet access yung OFW, mahirap din.
Mahirap lalo ngayon na medyo may crackdown ang Kuwaiti government laban sa mga TNT. Kung withheld ng employer mo ang iyong passport, lalabas kang TNT kasi, wala kang mai-presentang papeles mo.
Just in case walang internet access ang OFW, ang hotline ng embassy ay: 55952909. Ang street address ng embassy ay: Block 6, Villa 153, Nouman Bin Basher Street, corner Damascus Street, Faiha, State of Kuwait.
May mga OFW na kumpleto naman at areglado ang papeles ngunit, nakulong pa rin ng ilang oras bago pinawalan. Yung iba, sinaktan pa. Our thoughts and prayers for safety and well-being go out to the OFWs in Kuwait... Godspeed, mga kababayan.

Actually, hindi puedeng umuwi ang OFW basta-basta kung walang passport. Ito kasi ang tanging dokumento na: nagpapatunay na ikaw nga ay Pilipino, nagpapatunay sa mga pagkaka-kilanlan sa iyo; at higit sa lahat, ito lamang ang dokumentong nagpapatunay na ikaw ay pumasok sa bansang pinagta-trabahuhan mo sa ligal na paraan. Kung wala kang passport, ikaw ay tatanawing 'stateless' person. Kung sa bansang pinagta-trabahuhan mo'y may kaguluhan (katulad na lang ng Syria sa ngayon), maaari kang mag-request ng emergency passport mula sa Philippine Embassy. Di kaya, kung may UN personnel sa kinaroroonan mo, ikaw ay humingi ng tulong bilang refugee para ikaw ay ma-proceso at maka-uwi.
Kung ang mga circumstances na ito ay hindi applicable sa iyo at ikaw ay biktima ng mapang-aping employer na nag-withhold ng iyong passport, magsumbong ka sa pulis o makipag-ugnayan ka sa Embahada ng Pilipinas. Sa ilalim ng UN Convention on trafficking of women, kapag ang isang empleyado ay nag-withhold ng pasaporte ng isang trabahador, dahil sa ang trabahador ay magiging mistulang 'bihag' ng employer, ito ay mako-considerang act of human trafficking. Please go the Philippine Embassy nearest you. If there is a Migrante or Gabriela office near you, they can help. Any NGO that helps women who may be abused or trafficked can help you.
