Medyo parang me discrimination akong nararamdaman pag sinasabi kong illigitimate ako or walang middle name.

Translation: I have a stepfather who is an Australian citizen. My mother and my Australian stepfather had a de facto relationship (legally recognized domestic partner). My stepfather has stood as my father for 20 years.

Now my mother is receiving pension from him in Australia, because my stepfather is now deceased. They had made a joint afficavit since 1990 stating that my stepfather has been supporting me financially and we live in one house. So I am illegitimate child. My question is, where can I get an adoption compliance certificate? Can I use the surname of my stepfather? There are quite a lot of people who are wondering why I am illegitimate. I feel some discrimination when they say that I am illegitimate or that I do not have a middle name.

Una, ang dalawang tao (kahit na the same sex) ay puedeng magsama nang hindi sila kasal pero, they will still have all the rights that a legally married couple does.

I am not so sure about the documentation. But I am sure that if you go to the Australian Embassy, they have a social worker there who can help you with your social support. If your Australian step-father has treated you as his child, and he has been largely responsible for your support the whole of your life, then you may be considered his dependent. However, unless he has actually adopted you (it is a separate legal process) before he died, I do not know if you can claim adoption now that he has already died.

ibang usapan na ito kung halimbawa, iyong Australian is also your biological parent -- sabi mo kasi he is your stepfather. so, ibig sabihin, you have a Filipino father, but your mother was a recognized/registered domestic partner of her Australian partner and you have been supported by him.

These are questions of legal status that cannot really be discussed or determined through this kind of forum. You must go to the nearest Australian Consular Office or Mission and you can only determine your rights under their laws through them. I cannot help you there. You can inquire from Centrelink. They usually have services that help children or stepchildren of Australian nationals to receive legal benefits depending upon their status. They might be able to help you and give you information.
