Topic: Why do I still have bad breath? I brush my teeth 3 times a day. I also use mouth wash, listerine, after brushing teeth. I've likewise tried bactidol. My teeth, tongue and gums are all clean, but I still have bad breath, and I can smell it from my nose. I think it's not coming from my mouth but from my body. What should I do? What is the cure/treatment/remedy for this?

do you visit your dentist every 6 months? If so, it's possible na sa loob ng katawan mo. are you into different vices?

vices, means bisyo. are you a smoker? allergic ka ba into something? If it's PND, this link might help: http://www.wikihow.com/Cure-Post-Nasal-Drip

You might want to see a doctor as well for him to conduct some physical exams about the problem.

may I know how old are you now and when your problem started? If this problem happened at a very young age, medyo malaki yung problema mo. however, if this just happened just recently, you may need to have a lifestyle change. I'm suggesting that you make yourself healthy. If our body is healthy, it will act as how it supposed to function. If you are not that healthy, your cells can't cope up with the repair that your body needs.

I'm also suggesting that you try doing some minor exercise for 30 minutes, at least 3x a week. kahit pa-walking2 lang muna.

cge, pa-ENT ka muna, if same issue. I'm suggesting that you undergo a health scan checking how healthy your body is through scanning your carotenoid level.

Thank you for your question.

Common causes of bad breath besides gum and teeth diseases include chronic acid reflux, chronic respiratory infections, diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, and chronically dry mouth.

Having excluded gum and teeth diseases, each of the above needs to be excluded. Therefore, you need to visit your GP for evaluation and possible investigations to confirm any of the above.

However, in the interim, there are some tips you can employ to reduce the bad breath including:

1. Avoid alcohol and tobacco.

2. Stay well hydrated and chew sugarless gum after each meal to keep the mouth from getting dry.

3. Avoid drinking too much coffee.

I hope I have answered your question, and I wish you the best.
