Good day po doc.tanong ko lang po kasi ate ko po doc isang buwan na siyang nereregla.nagpa abort po kasi siya, wala naman daw po siyang nararamdaman na iba kundi yun lamang po. Wala po kami matanungan kasi secreto lang po namin ito. Sana po mabigyan nyo kami ng kaalaman kasi worried na po kamo. Salamat po


Question: My older sister has been having menstruation/bleeding for one month now. She had abortion, but she doesn' feel anything different aside from this. We can't ask anyone because this is just a secret. Please give advice.

Una, sa medical terminology, ang term na abortion ay tumutukoy sa ‘any loss of a pregnancy before fetal viability’ (o mga 25 weeks), katulad ng spotaneous abortion (for example, pagkalaglag o miscarriage). Sa non-medical na usapan, karaniwan ito tumutukoy sa induced abortion o pagpapalaglag. Kailangan ding tandaan na hindi lamang physical risk ang maranasan ng mother na nagpa-abort, kundi mayroon ding psychological consequences, at ilegal parin sa Pilipinas.

Karamihan sa mga babae ay nagble-bleed pagkatapos ng abortion. Ang daloy o flow ng bleeding ay maaaring tumagal ng ilang araw hanggang sa ilang linggo (days to weeks). Maaring mahina lang ang bleeding o maaaring katulad ng menstrual period. Maari ring mag-bleed ang babae tapos mag-stop, tapos mag-bleed ulit pagkaraan ng ilang araw.

Kapag mayroong heavy/malakas na bleeding, at pelvic o abdominal pain (masakit ang puson), at lagnat/fever o sakit ng ulo (headaches), mas mainam na magpa-konsulta kaagad sa doctor, dahil maaaring hindi pa natanggal lahat ng mga fetal tissue, o may infection, at iba pa. Wag mag-antay at magpa-consult at examinasyon agad.
