"Writing means sharing. It's part of the human condition to want to share things - thoughts, ideas, opinions." This quote by the famous writer Paulo Coelho tells so much about how a person can be a good writer. A person need not to be someone real famous or in high authority to be considered as a writer or for his works to be recognized by a lot of people because each one of us has something to share through the works of our hand in harmony with our mind and heart.

“We just kept finding ways to stay in the game and it came down in the last possession,” sabi ni head coach Tim Cone.

One way or the other, how simple our work may seem, it can touch the lives and the heart of the people who will be reading it. It doesn't need to be perfect. What is far more important is that it came from the writer's heart because through this, the writer can easily connect with his readers.

Moreover, write things that you are knowledgeable of because as the saying goes, you cannot share what you do not have. For the readers to believe you and your ideas or opinions, you must establish your credibility. To better understand this statement, let us put this concept in an example: compared to any other professionals (let us say, an engineer) or individuals, a medical professional can better write something about health-related topics. It may sound simple, but most of us forget to take this important step into consideration. Hence, some writers appear like they do not fully understand what they are saying.

Aside from this, an author should not forget that good writing entails anticipation of the reader's questions. It should serve the reader, not the writer. It isn’t indulgent. “The reader doesn’t turn the page because of a hunger to applaud,” said longtime writing teacher Don Murray. Rather, good writing anticipates what questions readers will have as they read a piece, and (before they ask them) it answers them.

Ergo, to be a good writer, you have to be certain of what you want your readers to know and feel, connect with them by sharing your experiences and the things you are knowledgeable of and anticipate the questions that they may have in mind as they read through the lines of your work.

May we ask for a small favor?

Unlike others, we don't charge users fees for asking questions from our medical, legal and other experts. This is because we want to keep our services free and accessible to all, regardless of social or financial status.

But it's difficult and expensive work. While more underserved Filipinos are using BuhayOFW, none are paying for it. And advertising revenues are minimal. Nevertheless, we have costs like any other top site: servers, power, rent, programs, staff, medical/legal experts, etc. We take no government funds; we run on donations.

So if you value our work in helping less fortunate Filipino friends, then become a Supporter and help make our future more secure. Help us continue our work.
