Been in a depression for the past few days. Would like to ask for your advise on my problem. I had my menstruation last December 16 and lasted until December 20. Take the first tablet of my contraceptive pill on December 22, i forget to take on December 23. I resume taking the contraceptive pill on December 24 upto date today. My question is, is there a possibility of having being pregnant if we had an unprotected sex last December 30? I do really need your advise. This matter really affects me and my performance at work. Hope someone can read this and give me advise on what will i do. Appreciate your help so much.

If we will base this cycle on the first day of your last menstrual period, you had unproteced sex during the time that you were fertile which means that there is a high chance that you will get pregnant. Also, you've noted that you've been taking pills for about a week 6 days now. usualy, couples should refrain from engaging in sexual activity during the first week of taking the pills. also, since you haven't completed the whole regimen yet (1 month) your menstrual cycle is not yet regulated to prevent conception

Hi Dr. LJ. Thank you so much for the response. This means even if I am taking the pills for 3 months already malaki pa rin po ung probability to get pregnant given the details stated on the thread?

Please advise.

Thank you po ulit

you didn't mention that you've been on OCPs for the past 3 months. You said you just took the first tablet of your contracepive pill last Dec 22. If you are on contraceptive pills for the ast 3 months, this will confer protection. There is still a small chance that you might get pregnant

Thank you so much Doc. Actually i forgot to mention it on the first email thread. it just really bothers me so much. If ever on what date should i take a PT to make sure that I am not pregnant if it happens that my period will be delayed.

Again thank you very for your time.

You're welcome! Most likely, your next period will start on January 14-16... if you fail to have your monthly period on these dates, do a PT after 2 weeks (January 28-31).

Just want to share that I do have my menstruation today. The information you provided really helps me. Atleast now I should be more careful in taking up OCP to avoid unwanted pregnancy.

may you continue to help and enlighten others like me.
