Ang declaration ni Pope Francis patungkol sa mga annulment ng kasal ay yung annulment sa ilalim ng Canon Law or Roman Catholic Church law. Hindi ito yung snnulment sa harap ng husgado.
Hindi ito mag-aaply sa iyo kung ikaw ay hindi kinasal sa ilalim ng Roman Catholic rites at kung ikaw ay sa huwes ikinasal. Ang simbahang katoliko kasi ay may sariling husgado para mag-annul ng mga kasal.
Isang example ay ang artistang si Sharon Cuneta. Ikinasal siya kay Gabby Conception sa Manila Cathedral. Noong malaman ni Sharon na si Gabby pala ay mayroon nang naunang kasal, nagpa-annul siya sa husgado. Hindi na siya nagpa-annul pa sa simbahang Katoliko. Kaya noong siya'y ikasal kay Sen.Kiko Pangilinan, sila ay hindi ikinasal pa sa simbahang katoliko. Hindi kasi sila puedeng magpakasal sa simbahan ulit kung hindi pa na-a-annul ang kasal sa marriage tribunal ng Catholic Church.
