Maliban sa WPW or Wolff Parkinson White syndrome na meron ako eh wala na akong ibanga sakit.

My bp is normal at 110/80 and 120/80. Fit to work po ba ako para makapag trabaho sa abroad? Since wala naman ako nararamdaman na kahit ano sa katawan ko. Thanks po

Translation: Aside from WPW or Wolff Parkinson White syndrome that I have, I do not have any other disease or medical condition. My blood pressure is also normal at 110/80 and 120/80. Am I fit to work abroad, since I do not have any other sickness?

Dear Rizaldy,

Your question is a perfect example of why I became a doctor! WPWS is a very rare cardiac condition affecting 0.1-0.3% of the average population. I won't go into the intricacies of the syndrome unless you require me to.
However my first question would be are on any medication and second question is when or if you had any palpitations, dizziness, shortness of breath, or syncope (fainting or near fainting) episodes?
If the answer is no to to both of those let me know and I will continue advising you. If yes that still will not necessarily mean you cannot work abroad. But we need to take a few precautionary steps first.

Look forward to your reply,

Kindest regards,

Dr Osman

Good morning Rizaldy,

I am happy you are taking precautions and following the correct steps for your condition.
ECG doesn't necessarily show artery blocks that requires a different test all together. Radionuclide stress testing where they inject a radioactive isotope into your vein and any arterial block would be seen. That is usually associated with heart attacks and Coronary Artery Disease which you clearly don't have from the information you have given me.
However although an ECG shows WPWS what you need to focus on is that:
1. You do not have heart block
2. You have not had any episodes of palpitations or syncope.
This means you are stable on your medications and from the information you have given me fit to work anywhere. Including abroad.
What medications are you taking?
In summary your screening tests are very positive and worrying about passing any medical test will only stress you out and put pressure on your heart. Do not smoke, eat healthy foods and have regular exercise. I am practically certain you will pass the medical with flying colours!
WPWS is a very rare condition as I mentioned previously and it will only be an issue if you display certain particular symptoms and signs which you do not. And remember it is only for your safety.

I wish you the best of luck passing your medical exam (which you have passed already) and please do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions.

Best regards,

Dr Osman

Dear Rizaldy,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm smiling as I write this.
To answer your question about taking Amlodipine. Yes continue. Your BP is normal because you are taking it. And believe me 5mg once a day is a very small dose and further reassures me that you are practically checking in to the plane to Saudi. Fish oils are also a hea;thy nutritional supplement so keep taking the with a well balanced diet.

Do not hesitate to contact me with any further queries.

Kindest regards,

Dr Osman
