My aunt has an acute abdomen most probably because of "stone/s" present in her right kidney according to her physician. Based on findings on her blood and urine, the amount of infection is too high but she doesn't need a surgery, so her physician gave her an antibiotic (Unasyn), paracetamol for fever, mefenamic acid for to reduce pain, and Buscopan to relax her instestine due to impacted feces. Her physician said she might have sepsis episodes because of her fever, and she had two episodes, one yesterday and another one early morning today. She vomitted twice, one early morning today and recently this evening. The physician adviced her to gradually eat only soft foods such as porridge and drink water. She already emptied her intestine twice and according to her, her stomach is somehow lighter than yesterday. When I asked her if the pain is increasing, she said the pain has already decreased because of her current medication. We noted her frequency of taking out urine from her body. She said her urine is lesser than yesterday.
I want to ask if vomiting and less urine is normal if the patient's condition is improving in her present medication. How I can know if the patient is really improving? What are the signs we must observe if her ailment is getting worse?
