Thanks for your question.

What medicine you would take would depend on the cause of your delayed period. There are many causes of delayed periods including stress, rapid weight change, eating disorders, ovarian disease, thyroid issues, use or stoppage of birth control pills, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.

You need to visit your GP for evaluation and possible referral to a gynecologist to determine the cause of the delayed periods.

I hope I have provided some clarity on the problem and I'd be glad to respond to any more questions you've got.

Best wishes.

Hi Cherre,

Thanks for your feedback and question.

If duphaston doesn't correct this symptom, it may indicate another underlying disease which needs to be confirmed before determining what medications you should take to regain your regular periods. Premature menopause would also be excluded.

The underlying disease may also be brain conditions which prevent normal signals to the ovary.

The white vaginal discharge you've been noticing every day most likely indicates a vaginal infection which may not necessarily be sexually transmitted. However, you need to see your OBGYN again to investigate the discharge and correctly diagnose what type of infection it is before commencing treatment.

I hope I have answered your question. Please feel free to send in any more questions you might have.

Best wishes.

Hi Cherre

Thanks for your feedback and question.

As I noted in my initial response, stress is a common cause of delayed periods, however it may not be implicated for this duration of delay.

All the factors which cause delayed periods do so by interfering with ovarian function, inhibiting its activity and preventing ovulation. A low ovarian activity, is therefore, the issue with delayed periods, but what's causing the low ovarian activity is what's needed to be identified via investigations.

I hope I have provided more clarity. However, I'd love to respond to more questions and follow up on your doctor visit and the treatment plan.

Best wishes.

In addition, the stress of worrying about this issue may contribute to the delayed period. I suggest you stay calm and reduce other stressors while you seek the solution.

Thank you.
