My wife just gave birth to our first son about 6 months ago. But 2 months after, she did not have her menstruation. So now she's 4 months delayed. We tried pregnancy test but all the results are negative. She didn't feel any strange pain except on her UTI. Can her UTI affect her menstruation or there has anything else ? And she is also gaining weight now after she gave birth. Can it affect also her menstruation? Please answer my question so that we can have some ideas. Thank you and God bless

Congratulations on the birth of your first son!
Delays in menstruation post child delivery may be caused by numerous things. However it is not uncommon for delays to last upto 5 months after delivery. UTI's are also common after delivery and a short course of antibiotics will fix that and no it has no effect on her not getting her period.
Gaining weight post delivery is absolutely normal and also has no effect on her menstrual cycle.
My advice nonetheless would be to visit her obstetrician or GP at your convenience to run a few tests to investigate why she is having these issues which are most likely to be hormonal and will correct themselves alone in time.

Congratulations once more and regards to the new mum and son,

Congratulations!
The weight gain in the first few months can be normal depending on the amount of weight gained. Breastfeeding requires an extra 500 calories per day for a single child on average. If she is eating more than the calories she is using to make breast milk, then she will obviously store those excess calories as fat. She should keep tabs on her daily intake but not actively try to diet and lose weight at this time.
The delay in menstruation is also not a big issue. After the first child, some women may not have a menstrual period for 10 months or more, especially is your baby is exclusively breastfed.
Enjoy yourselves!
