Hi Ivie!

I have some questions lang po muna.
1. Ano po yung type ng injectable na ginamit niyo, yung monthly o quarterly yung effect?
2. Nagstop po ba yung monthly period nyo when you were using injectables?
3. If yes, then kelan po bumalik regla nyo?
4. Also, when you said you quit using injectables on October 2016, did you mean na last shot niyo po nung buwan na yon, o yun yung supposed to be month for the next shot?

Anyway, I’ll try to answer your query the best I could and you don’t have to answer the questions above : )

1. It is important to note that theoretically, after a contraceptive shot like Depo Provera, the effect is expected to last for 12 weeks(3 months). Ibig sabihin, after that period, TO MAKE SURE na maiwasan ang pregnancy, you would need ANOTHER SHOT or ANOTHER TYPE of birth control method.

2. It is possible that fertility may not resume 3-6 after your last shot, but it’s not always the case. A good indication na fertile ang isang babae after nagstop gumamit ng injectables ay isang regular na monthly period, that is why I asked you if you had a previous monthly period prior to the one you had on December.

3. Pullout method/withdrawal method, is a type of birth control which requires a lot of discipline and self-control from both of the couple. According to studies, out of 100 couples who use it CORRECTLY, 4 women get pregnant a year. For those who don’t, a staggering 27 women get pregnant per 100. That should tell us that if you are serious about not having a baby anytime soon, you and your partner should consider any other contraceptive method like condoms, IUD, etc.

4. Have a Pregnancy Test. It has been a month since your last menstrual period and this is the ideal time (some experts say 1 week after your expected period) to check using a Pregnancy Test Kit. Hindi naman po kamahalan iyon. Do take note, even with a positive result, hindi pa rin po iyon 100% indication na pregnant kayo. There are conditions that lead to FALSE POSITIVE results and we will not be talking about it here. Nevertheless, if nag negative yung test, then that would be it – you’re not pregnant.
