Normal lang po ba ang malapot na dugo pag nagpalaglag at mabaho po eto? Hindi naman po ko nilagnat at hindi din po ko nagsuka. Off on po ang pag-cramps ng tiyan ko. Advance po sa sagot niyo

Translation: Is it normal to have gooey or viscous bleeding / blood discharge after abortion? And is it normal for it to have bad smell/ be smelly? I don't have fever and I don't vomit. But I have intermittent stomach or abdominal cramps.

Dear Miss,

No it is not 'normal' to have such symptoms after an abortion. The list of potential complications are many. Are you taking antibiotics? Are you getting counselling? I applaud that you are careful and recognising that you may develop a systemic infection (fever). Nevertheless I would strongly advise you to get seen by an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist as soon as possible as leaving your case to chance after showing signs of bleeding, abdominal cramping, discharge with offensive odour AND bleeding. Seek medical attention urgently.

I am sorry for your circumstances. Feel free to ask anything further.

Kind regards,

Doctor Osman
