Hi! How old is your kid now? is his cough productive (with phlegm)? Is he experiencing other symptoms such us fever? night sweats? weight loss? coughing or vomitting blood? does your kid have allergies to food, meds or anything in general? any history of asthma?
If it has been 2 weeks already and your child was also able to finish his/her antibiotics (and has no history of allergy or asthma to rule out allergic cough) I think it is best to have a chest x-ray to ascertain what's wrong. It can be pneumonia and the antibiotics were not enough to cover it OR this may raise suspicion of Primary Complex especially if there is a known case of an adult who has PTB in your home or people with close contact to your child.

Hi Doc,
Thank you for your response. No his weight is normal and no fever. My worries is that everytime he coughs he vomits since he doesn't know how to spit the phlegm. I've been to 3 different doctors (one of them is a pedia) but they all said that x-ray isn't needed. He was given a new set of medicine. One is antihistimine and the other is broncodialator. He has asthma doc. The pedia said that if he will not get better in 1 week, we have to buy montelukast and take it for 1 month.

Yes. If that is the case, X-ray is not warranted. eEspecially if by physical exam, your doctor heard some whistling tone on his chest. It is better to follow your pediatrician's advice. Be sure to have his Asthma controlled. I hope he gets well soon!
