Ano ang ibig sabihin ng mga simbolo sa Watawat ng Pilipinas?

Ang pinakamahal na simbolo ng bansa ay ang watawat nito. Ito ang nagsisilbing simbolo ng kalayaan ng bansang Pilipinas. Ito ay nagpapahayag ng mga ambisyon at damdamin ng sambayanang Pilipino sa walang katapusang paghahangad para sa kalayaan at naninindigan para sa pagiging makabayan, pagmamahal sa bayan, at isang pakiramdam ng pagiging nasyonal. Ito ay nagsisilbing simbolo ng pagkakaisa ng sambayanang Pilipino.

Ang watawat ay may iba’t ibang kulay at mga simbolo, ano nga ba ang ibig sabihin ng mga ito?
·         Puti na patatsulok – ay kumakatawan para sa kalayaan, pagkakapantay-pantay, at kapatiran.
·         Tatlong bituin - ang tatlong bituin ay kumakatawan sa tatlong pangunahing isla ng Pilipinas, ito ang Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao.
·         Araw na may walong sinag – ay kumakatawan sa pagkakaisa, kalayaan, demokrasya ng mga tao at soberanya.
·         8 sinag ng araw – ay kumakatawan sa walong lugar na nagsimula ng rebolusyon laban sa Espanya, ito ang Maynila, Bulacan, Cavite, Pampanga, Morong (ang kasalukuyang lalawigan ng Rizal), Laguna, Batangas, at Nueva Ecija.
·         Asul – ay sumisimbolo ng kapayapaan, kalayaan at katarungan ng mga Pilipino.
·         Pula – ay sumisimbolo sa katapangan at pagiging Makabayan ng mga Pilipino.
