Saan galing ang mga pamahiin at paniniwala ng mga Pilipino?

Sinasabing ang mga pamahiin ay nagsimula sa mga sinaunang paniniwala, kultura, at tradisyon ng mga tao. Karaniwang kinasasangkutan ng mga pamahiin ang mga bagay na hindi lubos na naiintindihan o kontrolado ng mga tao, kaya nagsisilbi itong paraan para magbigay ng kahulugan o paliwanag sa mga hindi maipaliwanag na pangyayari.
 
Maraming ang mga pamahiin ang nagmumula sa sinaunang paniniwala sa mga espiritu, mga diyos, at mga puwersang mahika. Ito ay isa raw paraan na ginagamit ng mga tao para ipaliwanag ang mga natural na phenomena o makakuha ng kontrol sa mga sitwasyo na hindi nila lubos na nauunawaan.
 
Ang mga pamahiin ay ipinapasa sa mga sumusunod na henerasyon dahil sa proseso ng pagsasalin ng kultura at tradisyon. Tandaan lamang na ang mga pamahiin ay walang siyentipikong batayan, inilalarawan lang nito ang mga kaisipan, paniniwala, at pagpapahalaga ng mga tao.
